Raaz - The Mystery Continues - Music Preview

Any follower of Bollywood, especially when it comes to good music, would certainly know by heart the entire catalogue that Vishesh Films has created in last two decades. And now when Bhatt brothers are ready to strike again with Raaz - The Mystery Continues (which is not a sequel to Raaz and mainly extends the horror-n-mystery genre forward), their music is in news once again.

Would it impress yet again, just like majority of films coming from the house of Bhatts do? Would it have soulful tunes which would make Raaz - TMC yet another addition to the enviable music catalogue of the Bhatts? Would Emraan Hashmi's lucky charm rub over Raaz - TMC too when it comes to popularity of music? Would Raaz - TMC match up to Raaz that had some haunting melodies by Nadeem-Shravan and still registers sales at the music stands?

This writer had an exclusive hearing of the film's songs and it can be comfortably stated that Raaz - TMC would be yet another winner up the sleeves of Vishesh Films. Here is presenting a brief look at what to expect from the soundtrack of Raaz - TMC: The song which impresses most is 'Maahi' which is sung by Toshi. A melodious love song with a haunting theme to it, it would be certainly loved by those who fell for numbers like 'To Phir Aayo' and 'Tera Mera Rishta' from Awarapan.

Also, for those who still like their music to belong to the 'Bheege Hoth Tere' mood, there is 'Soniye' which is a soft rock duet by Sonu Nigam and Shreya Ghoshal. Yet another romantic outing!

Ever so reliable K.K. is entrusted the responsibility of creating a club house track with a thump - 'O Jaana'. If at all a song is expected to arrive in more than just a couple of remix versions, it would be this. Rhythmic and very Western in feel, the number should go all the distance.

Balance two tracks in Raaz - TMC are situational with theme track 'Kaisa Yeh Raaz Hai' coming first. A haunting number that has a slow pace to it, it is expected to appear across the film's narrative. A number that is primarily orchestra driven, it is second song in a row for K.K.

However, Krishna sings the concluding number 'O Banda Re' which is made of 'shlokas' and 'mantras' and has a mix of 'sufi' sound too! A unique experiment, it carries the theme of the film with it, though with a loud orchestra accompanying it.

Well, while the first 100 second teaser of the film has anyways made a smash impression already, what with director Mohit Suri ensuring that he gets it right in his first ever horror film, the music too makes an instant impression while promising at least a couple of big chartbusters in the making.

A detailed review would follow soon. Watch this space!
